The Bling Brigade

Recently, I had this CRAZY idea about the perfect swag for a group of booksellers, attending the annual RT BOOKLOVERS Convention.

Over the years, I’ve given them travel-size games, such as tic-tac-toes, mirror compacts, and other goodies.

This year, I decided on designing a magnet with my book cover and another author’s. I IMG_4238titled it “Books Before Beauty,” then I made a trip to Michael’s for beads and other bling to jazz it up. Each magnet was uniquely decorated.

OrigiIMG_4239nally, I thought it would be a simple task. I rethought my mission and asked two friends to help. What I thought would take a couple of hours, turned into an eight-hour project. I was getting tired and told my friends, “That’s enough for one night. Y’all could go home.”

They didn’t leave until they finished. That’s friendship. That’s the brigade. Check out our bling.
