All Things Bookish

buying-love-final
Book 1 in Maple Run series

I am a Christian fiction author. I love writing contemporary romance books where the reader can fall in love and learn about God’s goodness. But before that I became a published author, I affectionately referred to myself as an avid reader (and still do!).

Y’all, I love all things bookish.

I’m probably a walking advertisement for a book nerd and I claim that moniker proudly. My side of the bed is surrounded by stacks of books. There are books on my nightstand. Books on the floor. Books on the end of my bed post. Books on my windowseat. Not because there’s no more room on my bookshelf—although that’s certainly true—but because I’m going to read the books soon. I mean it!

Eventually, my virtual (aka Kindle) TBR (to-be read) pile will lower long enough for me to pick up one of the print books. Or, I’ll decide I don’t want to read an eBook on my Kindle and will then grab a print book. Who knows?! I’m a mood reader.

If I don’t have a book in my hand, then you’ll find me wearing one of my many bookish T-shirts to advertise my avid reader status. You know the kind. Readers Gonna Read, I’m a Bookaholic on the Road to Recovery Just Kidding I’m on the Road to the Book Store, or Plot Twist, which I most wear when hanging with my writer friends. Or even one of the 3 below.

In fact, two of them I got recently for my upcoming birthday. One is a tissue box holder in the shape of books; and the other is a pencil/pen holder shaped like a typewriter. All the love and thanks for the friends responsible!

My bookish life is pretty sweet.

DecktheShelvesI decided to take inspiraiton for my every day life, and I created a heroine who ran a bookstore called, The Cozy Shelf. Besides the books, she sells mugs, wrapping paper, shirts, etc, all with a bookish theme. I’ve never had so much fun writing a character. She maybe a teeny tiny bit like me. 😉

So what about you? What do you own that marks you as an avid reader and a lover of all things bookish? Let me know in the comments!
