Can you imagine standing in a long line and the cashier calls for the last person to jump the line to get served first? When it comes to someone’s salvation, let them JUMP THE LINE!!!
There is a celebration when Jesus snatches our loved ones from the clutches of hell. He welcomes them into paradise to wait for the last trumpet sound. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17:For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
If you’re a Bible Believer and practicing Christian, I’m sure you’ve been praying for your loved ones’ salvation before they take their last breath. Check out these three testimonies about sinners who repented, water and fire baptized, and restored.
Praise Report #1: One Sunday, a wheelchair-bound resident of a nursing home across the street from my church attended our service, heard the Word of God, repented, and wanted to be baptized. Because of her disability, she required assistance to get in the water. Health professionals, including our first lady, who is a registered physical therapist, answered the appeal to help. After much anticipation, the woman was lowered into the water and baptized in Jesus name for the remission of her sins. The next day, someone informed our pastor that lady had passed away. According to a loved one, the woman said over and over, “I feel so clean.” Her family was astonished that she wanted salvation after the life she had lived. Whatever her history, it was erased because of the Blood of Jesus. The Last shall be First. Hallelujah.
Praise Report #2: The doctors told a church member’s cousin he only had a few weeks to live. The man repented and wanted to be baptized. The only problem was he was too weak to leave the hospital. Our pastor instructed the member, who is also a minister, to baptize him at the hospital. God’s heavenly tongues flowed from that man’s mouth after his sins were buried in water. A week later, he died as a new creature in Christ. The Last shall be First. Hallelujah.
Praise Report #3: After living in a twenty-year marriage polluted with infidelity, a wife decided to divorce her unfaithful husband. Free to live the life she wanted, she committed sins of her own. Not long after the divorce, cancer attacked and ravished her body. A week or so before her death, two family members reminded her about the redeeming power of Jesus’ Blood on the cross. She repented and God responded with His heavenly tongues spilling from her mouth. We later learned that she had been baptized in Jesus’ name during her lifetime. Restoration. The Last shall be First. Hallelujah.
I believe one of our earthly rewards for being faithful to God through the good and bad times is witnessing our family and friends’ salvation. Let’s continue to work in the vineyard. We never know who will answer God’s call for salvation at the midnight hour and JUMP THE LINE for Jesus. Hallelujah.
