Thank You!

It seems almost self-serving for an author to thank readers for purchasing and reading their books. Every artist is thankful to those who support their artistic and financial well-being.

But it’s more than dollars-and-cents for most artists. We do what we do because we have to. Grand and glorious creative ideas wake us up in the middle of the night. We must give them outlets. Otherwise, we would live bitter lives, full of regret and “what if?” questions that would follow us to the grave.

Yes, every artist must scratch the creative itch.

But there’s an even greater purpose for those who use their gifts to glorify God.

By Ephesians 4:12, we know that our gifts are useful to edify (build up) the body of Christ. When I sitemptyscreen2 down to a blank computer screen and tap out the words that come to heart and mind, I’m not only thinking about the description, setting, and dialogue. I’m thinking about YOU. As I write, I’m praying that you will take the encouragement, the enlightenment, and the love of Christ displayed through the plot and characters back into your world.

I’m hoping that the next time someone in need asks if they can use your spare bedroom for a while, you’ll think of Mama B and her sacrificial generosity. The next time your spouse says something that makes you wonder if you two will make it to another anniversary, you’ll remember how LaShondra and Stelson made it through a season of testing in No Weapon Formed. And the next time you feel your heart hardening to wise counsel, I pray you’ll remember all the unnecessary drama Peaches went through in Last Temptation. (That was some foolishness right there!)

It is my joy and honor to write stories that strengthen your walk in Him. I pray even now that the Lord will bless the work of your hands and cause you to be faithful in what He has called you to do as well. We are connected for reasons far beyond the obvious.

On behalf of this group:

Thank you for being receptive.

Thank you for sharing our works with other readers.

Thank you for taking part in this circle to edify the body of Christ.

  1. You are welcome Michelle, it is an honor to read your work, to get to know characters who teach me about our Lord and cause me to get all choked up.

I pray to continue to have these dry spells which produce an itch in need of scratching…

    1. Missy, I pray that our Lord will show you exactly how to respond to His prompting. Be blessed!

  2. You’re welcome! Thank you for sharing your gift to entertain and bless us at the same time.
